My grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer in January. He's been doing radiation and chemotherapy, and was just scanned for his progress. The doc said he's went from a 5 to a 2. What does that mean?

Basically, it means that it shrunk in size and there is no evidence of distant or local metastasis anymore. It's a good thing. A stage two tumor is clinically localized to the lung with no lymph node involvement.
