MUCH MUCH MUCH longer that that. Seriously, we're talking shipbuilding or 40 yrs of installing insulation. You'll be fine if it was just 1hr.

You can get mesothelioma after a single exposure. Being around it isn’t enough, you have to inhale it. One of the hospitals I work for is near the Port of Los Angeles and I have seen about half a dozen cases in women whose only exposure was to the particles on their husband’s clothing.

The long-term effects of asbestos exposure and these cancers symptoms usually do not appear for 20 to 30 or more years after exposure. Those symptoms and warning signs, however, hide a more serious, underlying condition. Unfortunately, these asbestos are usually not highly curable. Since these diseases do not progress quickly after exposure, they typically are not diagnosed until the disease has progressed into its latter stages.
