Former president of Czech Republic and lung cancer?
Hi guys Does anyone know about the former president of Czech Republic who had lung cancer since over 10 years if he survived it or not? is he still alive? thx in advance

Following a legal dispute with his sister-in-law, Havel decided to sell his 50% stake in the Lucerna Palace on Wenceslas Square, a legendary dance hall built by his grandfather VÃ¡clav Havel. Regular cigarettes can cause lung cancer, but what about using marijuana

Regular cigarettes can cause lung cancer, but what about using marijuana?
It's used legally for medical reasons, but I've heard nothing as to the effect it has on the lungs. Is it worse or the same as cigarettes?

ive heard its either worse or the same.. but not better

smoking ONE joint is the same as smoking four or more cigarettes. so its FOUR TIMES as bad. don't do it. =)

I've heard the latest statistic suggesting that one joint is equal to 5 cigarettes. That doesn't say much about the size of the joint, or if you're smoking the whole thing all by yourself. I think they're probably equally damaging when you consider that cigarettes are chock full of harmul chemicals whereas marijuana is pretty "all natural." Even so, marijuana is very tarry and much stronger than cigarette smoke, causing most people to cough each time they inhale it. So, while it might be all natural, the smoke is probably just as, if not more damaging to the lungs.

Expiratory wheeze and asthma vis a vis lung cancer

Expiratory wheeze and asthma vis a vis lung cancer?
I'm 58 and fit but have some history of occasional bronchitis, and grandfathers who had TB. I have recently developed an expiratory wheeze that only occurs when laying in bed on my right side, and which appears to be in the left side of my lungs. Have an occasional dry cough too. Could this be asthma, or even a very early indication of lung cancer? Am not coughing up phlegm, and certainly no blood. In many clinical imaging situations, MRIs are much more informative than x rays; however, x rays seem to be consistently still used for checking out lung disorders - are they especially effective for this particular organ?

Might be COPD ?? Check with pulmanologist

There are several different diseases that could cause this symptom,ie pneumonia,congestive heart failure,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.The only way to know for sure is to see your doctor and have lab tests and chest x-ray done.
