here is an article http://www.dhs.ca.gov/ohb/HESIS/cr6.htm
2 :
Aside from inhalation and deposition of the compounds into the lungs to form sources of irritation, many of the population is alergic in some range to the residual chromium tanning products used in the production of shoe/boot leathers. Its not unusual for women to be alergic to Ni plated jewlery or even to stainless steel jewlery (Have Ni and Cr components)

What are some symptons of lung cancer

What are some symptons of lung cancer?

cough, pain, secretions (mucus/blood), wheeze, feeling short of breath like you just can't get enough oxygen into you no matter how vigorously you breathe you're obviously worried about it, if it's you go get it checked out, the earlier detection the better. If it really is cancer they can start treatment sooner rather than later. best of luck mate :)
2 :
I went to the dr. thinking I had a recurring bronchial attack. Routine xrays were given.... my lung cancer was found. I had no other symptoms. This is the thing with cancer, quite often there are no early symptoms and this is why the cancer is most often found in the stage IV by the time its detected. If suspected, have an xray done.. if its suspicious then a CT will be ordered for a closer look.
3 :
The only symptom that my mom had was a constant cough. She would cough so hard that it hurt. For the first year, they did chest xrays that showed nothing. Then the next year she was tired of the cough, so they again they did another chest xray. Still showing nothing, they decided to do a MRI. This showed a tumor the size of a baseball. So the only thing she had was the cough. So if this person has a chronic cough, please talk them in to going to the Dr.

How long would you like to live? God, in His Book promises all of us 70 years of life on earth and 80 or more if we are healthy. So, anything before 70 on earth is short of your promise. So, how long do you want to live on earth? As for me, I am going to live forever in heaven with Him! You could have the same!
2 :
I dont know but i was going to ask this question yesterday, then found my mom wasnt stage 3, but stage 4, and no one has told us how long she has....she also has diabetes.

What is the relationship between cigarette smoking and Lung Cancer

What is the relationship between cigarette smoking and Lung Cancer?

cigarette smoking leads to Lung Cancer
2 :
There is a correlation between people who smoke cigarettes and people who get lung cancer. However even people who do not smoke can get lung cancer and some people who smoke a lot do not get cancer. What cigarette smoking does is increase the risk of getting lung cancer but by no means is it a sure thing one way or the other.
3 :
The gunk and chemicals from cigarettes builds up and causes the cells and alveoli to become damaged. Once the cells are damaged enough, they either die completely or become cancerous and replicate from cell to cell. The list of chemicals in a burning cigarette are endless. And as well all know, chemicals known to be harmful aren't a good thing to put into your lungs. But it's not the lung cancer I would worry about as much as the heart disease and respiratory problems it is guaranteed to cause. Cancer is just a roll of the dice compared to those two.
4 :
Cigarette smoke is full of particles that are known carcinogens that may cause lung cancer. Thank God I don't have lung cancer but I do have emphysema from smoking for 43 years. http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/whatsinit.htm
5 :
the relationship is quite simple but its actually quite complicated. in your blood system they are arteries which leads blood to the heart and when you have a cigarette it blocks up your arteries with this sticky stuff called tar ( the thing off the roads) which are actually in cigarettes which would lead to a heart attack but lung cancer is pretty much the same , where this time when the arteries are clogged you are less able to breathe and when this happens . your lungs start to fail and if it isn't diagnosed properly you will probably die if you smoke , you may as well commit suicide as they are cancer sticks or at least stop for you and your families sake hope this helped beth;!
6 :
Smoking equals cancer equals early death...what don't you understand? Plus it is a disgusting habit that pollutes everyone else's air...

Don't be too hard on yourself. People deal with bad news in different ways. The best thing to do is to start supporting your mother, even if you don't feel any emotional drive.... just do what you KNOW is good to do. You love her, but the oddness of the news may be difficult to process. So simply take action and be there. When you look back on this, you will have done the right things for the right reasons, and THAT, will help everyone to deal with the emotions that are to come.
2 :
This is actually very normal. You're probably in denial. Its a hard fact to accept and you're not ready to face it yet. Eventually it'll sink in and it'll hit you that this is real. Or you might just possibly be in denial the whole time because its too hard. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer twice (when i was 13 and again when i was 17) and both times I felt just like you. I refused to let myself face it and I was in complete denial for a long time and wouldn't feel any emotion. I'm really sorry about your mom. But if it makes you feel better, my mom had cancer twice and both times it went away completely and shes been cancer free for 5 years and shes in better shape than ever before. So just know that your mom CAN fight this and come out of it on top.

What is the relationship between cigarette smoking and Lung Cancer

What is the relationship between cigarette smoking and Lung Cancer?

Cancer - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
The relationship is that cigarette smoke has about 60 known, proven carcinogens. Every 16 or so cigarettes (on average) causes damage to the lung cells' DNA. Eventually you have damaged so many cells in so many locations, that a lung cancer is able to develop. Perhaps 15% of smokers will get lung cancer. Many more will get other chronic (and acute) respiratory and circulatory illnesses directly as a result of smoking. About 90% of lung cancer cases are caused by cigarette smoking. It is the single most significant cause of fatal cancer in the world today.
2 :
There are compounds in cigarette smoke which can damage DNA in cells (carcinogens). Over time, the amount of damage to cells in the lungs builds up and eventually a cell malfunctions and instead of dividing normally like every other cell in your body, the DNA is damaged so that the cell divides out of control and doesn't self destruct. That is the beginning of cancer. Basically, smoking causes cells to change and become cancerous.

can your elbows or ankles start swelling with lung cancer

Yes. It happened to my grandpa, he had to wrap them really tightly, they even got so bad where fluid was coming out. There is a prescription you have to take, i can't remember the name of it but ask a dr., it is crucial to get the medication for this. If not, the body will start to swell everywhere and it can get really bad and your skin will even open up.
