I've been smoking 50 years and don't have it.

YOU WILL BE ALRIGHT .DON'T GO BACK TO SMOKING!

You could be ultra sensitive and develop it from one cigarette, it totally depends on your body type. And it could develop within years because of that cigarette you puffed, its good you've woken up and stopped abusing your body. Lets hope your not one of those sensitive people, otherwise your lungs should recover over time. Make sure you don't be around smokers, its just as bad as smoking and can be even worse.

Put your head between your legs and kiss your ass good bye.

There are cases where people have been smoking for 20-40 years of their life and doesn't develop lung cancer. Than again there are people who have never smoked a single cig and died from lung cancer. The answer to your question is based on medical statistics, and NO the chances of you getting lung cancer from smoking for a month 1/2 is very very very low. However don't start again, because the more you smoke the stats look worse and worse.

Pretty much the same odds before you smoked. Of all the lung cancer cases reported in the United states, 1 in 2 claim to have never been smokers. That's one of those little statistics that the anti smoking crowd doesn't like to talk about. When they do admit to it, they usually throw out a lie or two about it being as a result of second hand smoke. Well, here's what you should consider about that... The amount of smokers has dropped over the last couple decades. Smoking just plain ain't as popular as it once was. Yet the amount of 'smoking related illnesses' has gone up. Suddenly, they're blaming it on second hand smoke. Which is of course not possible. If second hand smoke was that bad, then the amount of smoking related illnesses would have been higher decades ago when smoking was more popular. No, the truth is smoking is bad for you but it's not to blame for every single bad thing that happens in people's healths. Smokers can be perfectly healthy and non-smokers can be walking lemons. The person who lived the longest in the history of the world, a 122 year old woman was a heavy smoker. Yet one of my neighbors, a non smoker, recently dropped dead of a heart attack at age 36 because his vice (eating fried foods) was more deadly and unhealthy then my vice (breathing in tobacco smoke) and he never took care of his body otherwise. I do take care of mine. I love my body, I also love smoking, and I want to have both for a long long time.
