My mom has coughed up some blood she has non small cell squamous lung cancer in rt lung. It was the size of a softball before chemo and radiation. But yes you can cough up blood some.

The patient of blood in cough needs further evaluation by xray chest,AFB culture,bronchoscopy to know the real cause.
