There's only one way to be sure... You shouldn't smoke at all.

There is no way you could possibly get lung cancer from smoking pot for 3 months. I'm sure there is something else triggering the coughing.
3 :
nahhhh you can't. then only thing that can happen when you smoke pot is you can lose some of your memory. but that's only after you have smoked it for a long period of time, and by long i mean like 40 years or so.
4 :
Theoretically it could be a factor, but in and of itself....HIGHLY unlikely.
5 :
yes but it's extremely rare, you can get cancer from smoking 1 cigarette, you most likely have a cold
6 :
Nope. Not after 3 yrs. either, even with daily use...

there have been no cases where marijuana was the DIRECT cause for lung cancer. you most definately do not have lung cancer, unless it is from something else, but im sure your fine
8 :
I'm going to say no. But you have to consider did you inhale something else. You may just have a cold or bronchitis. i'm sure you'll be fine.
9 :
Pot doesn't cause lung cancer.

While the chance for anything theoretically does exist, the number would be so small as to be insignificant. Smoking marijuana has finally been shown in years of study that it does not cause lung cancer, but actually may exhibit a slight protective effect against lung cancer. This information came from one of the largest studies on marijuana and cancer. The study originally started with the intention of proving the harms of marijuana, but after many years of contradicting results, they have had to unexpectedly conclude marijuana is not linked to lung cancer. This is despite several known carcinogens in marijuana smoke. Researchers believe it may be due to the anti-tumor properties of THC. THC also functions as an anti-oxidant, reducing oxidative damage to cells by binding to and neutralizing free-radicals (You have probably heard the term "free-radical" before. A radical is simply the a part of a molecule or ion with unpaired electrons. Unpaired electrons want to pair up if at all possible, meaning they will bond with other atoms or molecules. Free radicals in the body are bad because they bond to often important molecules that they aren't supposed to bond to. In biological systems, molecular level geometry, or the shapes of the molecules, determine their function. If a molecule now has an added "piece" stuck too it, it won't perform the same task since its shape is altered. If you are interested in less controversial, more nutritious sources of anti-oxidants, goji berries, other berries, green tea, and pomegranates are very high sources of antioxidants. But in short, there is a 99.9999999% chance that you do not have lung cancer. Smoking weed will build up tar in the lungs, and yes you will cough some. If you smoke cigarettes, that is most likely the cause. Also consider that weed is actually an expectorant (stimulates cleaning in the lungs) which will make you cough up a lot of the nasty tar, particles, and even pollution in your lungs. This is another way cannabis counter balances some of the negative effects of smoking. People who smoke both cigarettes and cannabis live on average 7 years longer and have lower rates of cancer and disease than those who smoke only cigarettes. If one wishes to continue cannabis use and minimize the impact on their body, they should smoke from glass as opposed to metal or papers. Blunts, although extremely enjoyable, should be limited as the tobacco wrap is still bad for you. Bongs and water-pipes help even though they don't effectively filter tar. They do filter ash and fine particles that would get caught in your lungs as well as some of the other elements of the smoke. New carbon-filtered bongs do offer a significant increase in filtration, as most carcinogens, free radicals, and hydrocarbons (such as tar) bind very readily to activated charcoal. This is much like a carbon drinking water filter. This combined with water will result in cleaner smoke. Also hurricane brand bongs filter out a large amount of tar due to the inclusion of air inlet jets in the body that spin the smoke in a strong vortex. The spinning tornado of smoke acts on the same principle of a gas centrifuge to spin the heaviest particles in the smoke (tar) to the outside. As the smoke rises, it enters successively smaller chambers, smearing the tar on the glass and removing an appreciable amount of it from the smoke. Vaporizers are a very safe method of use. Although expensive, a medical vaporizer heats the plant matter to the boiling point of THC, much lower than the combustion point. Since the plant never actually burns, it results in near pure THC vapor, and delivers none of the tar or other pollutants that result from combustion. Eating cannabis cooked in butter is also a completely safe method of administration. When taken orally, there are no negative health effects on the body.
