I don't know much about it, but i do know my grandfather beat it. He used ambertos ( I think that is how you spell it) and had laser radiation done to him. Laser radiation is were they put you in a mold and pinpoint every cancer cell in you then shoot a laser at it, and then it kills the cancer cells. that is what I know to learn more just do a google search or something.

Lung cancer is a disease of uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. This growth may lead to metastasis, which is the invasion of adjacent tissue and infiltration beyond the lungs.

Smoking causes 90% of all lung cancers , but this effect of smoking is usually delayed until the patient is 55 or over. Other causes of lung cancer include asbestos dust, irradiatioon and chrome dust. There are several different types of lung cancer , depending on the cells within the lung that are effected. The common types are : - Squamous cell carinoma - this is relatively common and symptoms usually occur early , but the cancer doubles in size every three months and spreads early to lymph nodes -Oat cell carinoma - far more serious. They spread rapidly to other parts of the body and they are immposible to cure. -Secondary cancers which are the spread of cancer from other parts of the body to the lungs. -Many other rarer types of lung cancer are known. The early warning signs are weight loss, a persistant cough, coughing blood and worsening breathlessness. Later symptoms include loss of appetite, chest pain and hoarseness. Spread of cancer to other organs is the next stage.( most commonly to bone and the brain ) Prevention is always better than cure, and that means stop smoking. Even in heavy smokers , after five years of non-smoking , the risk of developing lung cancer will reduce to near normal. Treatment involves major surgery, irradiation and potent drugs , depending on the type of cancer present. Radiation may be used to shrink the original tumour , but is primarily used to treat cancers that have spread to other organs. Fewer than 20% of all patients with lung cancer survive more than five years from the diagnosis.

This is a very loaded question. There is so much a person can write. My mom just passed away from small cell lung cancer. I would suggest to get onto one of the lung cancer yahoogroups. People who have the lung cancer, survivors, and care takers, families trying to cope. You will get all of your questions answered on them.
