i am 17 and ever since i became a senior i smoke cigarettes and cigars on the weekends just at parties. i inhale the cigars and cigarettes. your not suppose to while smoking gars i dont think, but im not a constant smoker, just at parties. i just would really like to know if i have cancer or how much longer till i get it. i know it is a juvenile act to smoke especially at my age and being a young lady but im just curious. any ideas?

you can get it at any age. stop smoking now and you won't have to worry about asking this question. it's not cool. I'm only 20 and I hack sh!t up all the time. if you can refrain during the week or whenever you're not at a party then stop now cause it will get worse.

You can't really know if you have lung cancer without going to a doctor. I am willing to bet you don't have cancer. Even heavy smoking at 17 won't be enough to cause lung cancer. If you are really worried about cancer, stop smoking! Even if it is just for a few months. Lungs will patch themselves up. Also you are not supposed to inhale cigars.

Once your start smoking, you are on the road to any lung related diseases, not just lung cancer (heart attack, high blood pressure, contaminated blood, inability to breathe..etc). The nicotine in those cigarettes you're inhaling are slowly killing your lung cells. It isn't about how long would it takes a smoker to get cancer, but it's the fact that a smoker is definitely going towards any lung diseases. Sometimes, symptoms don't even show up during the early times, but the lung is slowly "drying" up inside and blackening. Not trying to scare you, but it would be a very hard and literally breathless journey till you find out you do have lung cance.r If you quit smoking now, the lung may be able to restore itself and since you're still at a young age, your lung can heal faster than those who are older.
